That’s exactly what I was trying to get across. Especially as a teenager when we are experimenting with different looks, it can be shocking and uncomfortable when someone actually makes a comment you’re not sure how to take. While this situation made me so 30 years ago, now I would take it as a compliment regardless of whether the guy meant it as one or not.
