Mecanorma: Graphic Book
Mecanorma/Studio Peps, 368 pages, 1984
I’ve been a bit obsessed lately with my collection of graphic design books of the 1980s and have been spending many a chilly evening poring over their pages and scanning favourite images. When I pulled out the Mecanorma: Graphic Book last week it was to go through the pages of fonts Mecanorma is best known for, but ended up marveling at the design work of the book itself. Mock album covers and ads are meant to demonstrate how the products in the book — which is actually, technically a catalogue — can be used, and at almost 400 pages it’s a perfect book for design hounds and typography-philes. Just take a look at a selection of the pages inside the covers.
