I’m sitting in the Little Room listening to “I Want Candy” really loud and wondering what my parents would do to me anyway if I got a mohawk? What could they do exactly? It would be a Mohawk. It’s hard to do anything about that.

That chick from Bow Wow Wow has one and she’s not much older than me. What was she? Like, 14 when this song came out? It was something like that. They were on TV one day and my mother says something about her being “such a pretty girl” and then “why would she do that to her hair?” She made it very clear that I would not be getting a mohawk under any circumstances.

I don’t see how she could stop me. It’s not like I would go with her to the hair salon and have my hairdresser Donna do it. She probably would, though. Donna is always thinking that my hair colours are fun and she likes to razor cut my long bangs so they look choppy and fall onto my face in just the right way. I’d have to pay her myself.

But I wouldn’t go there anyway. I’d have to do it myself or have Laurie do it so I wasn’t crooked. I wonder if I have the right shaped head for a Mohawk? I turn the music up and touch the side of my head and think about what I would be like for it to be bald there, and smooth.
